Book NowThe Southern Bluefin Tuna is an extremely powerful fish that is well suited to a long life endlessly swimming the open seas. A highly saught after catch, the Tuna is not only a great sportfish to catch, putting up a fantastic fight to the boat, but also its medium flavoured flesh and is regarded by both Japanese and Western chefs as the best raw fish to eat in the world.
Snapper are a schooling fish, they tend to travel in large groups of similar size and age and are extremely tough and able fighters. A highly edible fish and as with any fish, the juvenile snapper has a sweeter and tenderer flesh and is ideal for baking whole, where as the mature snapper is perfect for dissecting the meat sideways into steaks, for frying, barbequeing or baking.
The King George Whiting, distinguished by its unique pattern of spots, as well as its highly elongate shape, are often found in bays and protected waterways over sand and seagrass beds, also venturing out onto deep continental shelf reefs during adulthood. KGW are heavily targeted by recreational anglers who value the whiting for its sporting and eating qualities.
Fleurieu Charters is run by Gary and Katrina Lloyd at Cape Jervis in South Australia. Born and Bred at Cape Jervis and growing up in the fishing industry, Gary's expertise and knowledge of these areas and waters are second to none.
After spending all of his life commercial fishing in the area (currently over 30 yrs) he decided to create and start operating Fleurieu Charters. In 1995 he purchased his first charter boat. The popularity of his business grew quickly and he has now added another 2 boats to complement his charter service.
With this wide number of boats, Fleurieu Charters can cater for any size group and your charter can be tailored to suit your needs. Gift vouchers are also available.
Once you have booked your charter, Gary will contact you the day before to confirm the weather, starting time and itinerary for your day. In the event of bad weather you can reschedule your trip for another day.

Food, Drinks, Appropriate clothing, Sunscreen, Esky, Camera and any specialized tackle if you wish. All fish that need to be cleaned will be done at the end of the day (excluding filleting)
Clayton Northerleigh is a 9.7m fiberglass Clayton Gallant powered by a 318hp Volvo Penta inboard Turbo charged 6 cylinder diesel engine and is surveyed to carry 11 passengers. Northerleigh is equipped with a colour echo sounder, GPS and plotter 48 mile radar, VHF,27 meg radio, AM/FM stereo, toilet and all required safety gear.
Determination is a 9m aluminum Young Craft powered by a 318hp Volvo Penta inboard Turbo charged diesel engine and is surveyed to carry 8 passengers. Determination is equipped with a colour echo sounder, GPS and plotter, 24mile radar, VHF, 27 meg marine radio, AM/FM stereo, toilet, and all required safety gear.
